Local Authority

We have acted on behalf of a local authority in several judicial review/injunction cases arising from planning and local authority law.

We have been involved in notable and landmark decisions on behalf of Limerick City Council including the 2008 Boundary Extension which increased the functional area of Limerick City by approximately 50%.

We also have a special area of expertise in the area of Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs) and over the past 12 years have acted on behalf of a local authority in the completion of numerous CPOs. We attend assessments and arbitrations and offer a full advisory service to both private clients and local authorities in respect of the entire Compulsory Purchase Procedure.

Our team has also for 20 years represented a local authority in the area of Code Enforcement.

We prosecute Planning, Waste, Litter, Pollution and Rates offences and in addition have represented the Fire Authority since the late 1990’s in respect of all of its prosecutions.
